'On The Nail' Reading @ The Locke Bar

The next monthly 'On The Nail' literary reading takes place Thursday 4th Feb
2010 at 8.00pm in The Locke Bar, George's Quay, Limerick.

Organised by The Limerick Writers' Centre this popular monthly reading and open-mic continues to attract audiences with a mix of poetry, prose and music.

This Months Guest Readers Are Kate Dempsey and Fergus Costelloe.

Kate Dempsey has had poems placed and published in various publications in Ireland and in UK and in competitions including The Hennessy New Irish Writing in the Sunday Tribune, Poetry Ireland, The Shop, Revival, Orbis, Abridged and Grist. She was also selected to read for Poetry Ireland Introductions and Windows Publications Introductions as well as at Electric Picnic, CastlePalooza and Flat Lake Festivals. She runs the Poetry Divas Collective who are available to read at all cool festivals.
Fergus Costelloe is a performance poet from Tipperary. He was the winner of the Cuisle International Poetry Festival Grand Slam held at The Locke Bar, Limerick in October last year. He is also an artist and his work has been displayed widely.

As usual music will be provided by Chris Wood and friends. Everyone is invited to take part in the open-mic after the main event, poets, storytellers, musicians and writers . Even if you don't write you are welcome to bring something along to read. The night begins at 8.00pm and there is free admission and free finger food for everyone attending. So join us on the night and make this event something special.

NOTE: Our special authors book table will again be in operation, so if you want your book, CD's etc publicised make sure you are represented on the

The Limerick Writers' Centre Presents The June 2015 'On The Nail' Literary Gathering Tuesday 2nd June 2015 @ The Loft Venue @ The Locke Bar, Georges Quay, Limerick. Start 8.00pm sharp! This months guests are writers Mike Gallagher and John McGrath. Mike Gallagher , writer, poet and editor, was born on Achill Island and worked in London for forty years before retiring to Kerry. His prose, poetry, haiku and songs have been published in Ireland and throughout Europe, America, Australia, Nepal, India, Thailand, Japan and Canada. His writing has been translated into Croatian, Japanese, Dutch, German and Chinese. He won the 2009 Samhlaiocht Slam, the 2010 Michael Hartnett Viva Voce competition, he was shortlisted for the Hennessy Award in 2011 and won the Desmond O'Grady International Poetry Contest in 2012. His poetry collection Stick on Stone was published by Revival Press in 2013. John McGrath is a poet, writer and retired teacher who lives in Lisselton, Nort
