This months guest readers are Marian O'Rourke and Michael Durack. Marian O'Rourke was born in Limerick and spent most of her life in North America. Her poems have been published in a variety of journals and anthologies in Ireland, England and Canada. She has read her work on WBAI (New York C... ity)and Lyric FM and has performed at poetry events in Ireland, England and The United States. Uprooted, her first poetry book, was published by Horn Press in 2008 and Inhaling the Light by Lapwing Press in 2009. Her short stories have been accepted by Sunday Miscellany. Marian holds an M.A. in Creative Writing from The Waterford Institute of Technology. She is currently working on her third poetry collection. This month our guests are John W Sexton, Louis Mulcahy and Deirdre Hynes PLUS a 10 minute Play and Open-Mic. Deirdre Hines was born in Liverpool. She moved to Belfast shortly thereafter, and from there to Letterkenny in Co. Donegal, where she now lives. She graduated from Trinity in 1989 with a double honours degree in English and Theatre Studies. She has written several plays, of which “Howling Moons, Silent Sons” won the Stewart Parker Award fro Best New Play in 1992. She was short listed for the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award in 2010, and won the Listowel Poetry Collection in 2011. This month’s guests are Joe Horgan and Teri Murray Joseph Horgan was born in Birmingham, England, of Irish parents. He is a poet, author, journalist, and reviewer. His writings and poems have appeared in numerous literary journals in Ireland, the UK, Europe and America and have been broadcast on television and radio. He is a past winner of The Patrick Kavanagh Award. He has been short-listed for a Hennessy Award. He has been a recipient of an Arts Council bursary and a Cork County Council Arts bursary. His first collection of poetry, Slipping Letters Beneath the Sea, was published by Doghouse in 2008.
