This month guest readers Cork poet Colm Scully and writer Kathleen Thorne.

Colm Scully is from Cork where he lives with his wife and three children. His twenty years working in industry as a chemical engineer combine with his interest in history, philosophy and science to provide the back drop to many of his poems. In 2014, Colm received the CĂșirt New Writing Poetry Prize, and was selected for the Poetry Ireland Introductory Series, while he was also commended in the Gregory O’Donoghue Prize.

CATHERINE THORNE is a native of Ballina, in the County of Tipperary, across the Shannon from Killaloe. In another life she taught English, French and Geography. Her passions are gardening, reading, writing and her doggie. She is a director of the Killaloe Hedge-School of Writing, and has lately published LIFE IN BLACK & WHITE, a collection of her poetry and short stories.
Everyone is invited to take part in the open-mic after the main event, poets, storytellers, musicians and writers . Even if you don't write you are welcome to bring something along to read. The night begins at 8.00pm and admission is free. So join us on the night and make this event something special.
